Christy Calcagno

Christy Calcagno is an anchor and journalist at WLTX-TV in Columbia, SC, where she appears on the station's daily morning newscasts.

Her career has taken her to several cities in the Southeast both as an anchor and reporter, including Bristol, Virginia and Chattanooga, Tennessee. But she is excited to call the Midlands home.

Christy enjoys covering public safety, breaking news and stories that give voices to those who may not otherwise be heard.
 
Her role at News19 WLTX includes anchoring, producing, reporting and managing digital content for the weekday morning show. In addition to her journalistic passions, Christy spearheads the recognition of great educators, through the “Teacher of the Week” awards. Christy uses social media as a tool to enhance her skills and reporting techniques.
 
Christy graduated from Ithaca College in 2018 with a Broadcast Journalism degree from the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Born and raised in New York, Christy is passionate about news reporting and the ethical principles surrounding the media today. She enjoys working alongside fellow journalists in an atmosphere that allows her to utilize and enhance her skills.
